I HAVE LITERALLY just had the biggest clear-out, chucked all my clothes away. Some of them have been sold on eBay- making the guilt a little more bearable since a few of these items of clothing had only been worn twice(?!)- and the main chunk being donated to my local charity shop-also helping with the guilt!
Sometimes when I'm browsing through street-style blogs or just magazines, I chat to my sister about changing my style and being bored of the way I dress as I just tend to stick to my comfort zone of jeans and t-shirts and I often even part with good money to have an attempt at trying-out new trends. But after going through this clear out and I have realised that there are things that I like the look of but just don't get any wear out of, I have like 4 t-shirts that I just wear on rotation (like the one pictured here, it's been featured on this blog so many times, I feel there aught to be a sidebar link dedicated to it). It's sort of like looking at my collection of nail polishes, there's like every colour available but I only ever stick to a few colours-mainly blacks, red and pinks- I now invest in good quality of nail polishes which lasts longer (you know, chip-free and all that..) so I am now going about approaching my clothes shopping in the same way. Buying less and but spending more on one particular item rather than ending up with 4 shirts of which I only tend to wear one and by the 5th wear it's fallen apart. We shall see if spending more really does equate to better quality, long lasting clothes.
