SAINT LAURENT'S, Autumn/Winter 13 collection presented earlier this year was one of my highlights of Paris FashionWeek. It was the fact, for me at least, that it was so easily relatable and how a person could look at the collection, have a quick browse around their own wardrobe and probably create at least one of the looks from the collection-let's face it, who doesn't own a plaid shirt these days? It was easily going to be the collection that was going to have the main influence on what people would be buying/wearing this season and I was curious to see how it was going to be translated to high-street pieces. This morning when I was having a quick browse through my favourite blogs and simultaneously filling up a virtual basket, I stumbled upon this dress on zara.com (pictured below) and it of course immediately made me think of the tartan collared dress (shown above). How they continue to get away with it is beyond me but in most ways I (like many, I am sure) can be both against it and for it because this way I might actually be the proud owner of a cute tartan dress, the main qualm I am now having is how I am going to get away wearing it sleeveless?
What do you guys think of Zara's take on Hedi Slimane's work?
