Dear God, it has been ages!
I looked at my blog today and stared at it with open-mouth incredulity-has it really been three whole months since I last posted anything? I wish I had some eloquent, welcoming words or even a witty story to compensate for my absence but no, I have neither. Instead I'll opt for something conventionally dull and just discuss the old cliché of time and how it seems to whizz past us without any of us noticing AND I'll also share this delicious cookie recipe and the story behind the source of inspiration.

During
the Olympics-which feels like a whole life time ago now-the town centre
was a lil' crazy, live showings of the games meant the place was
scattered with people and along with the crowd came the munchies. Tonnes
of mini carts were dotted all over the place selling all kinds of
culinary delights; it was sort of like having the Christmas German
market come a few months early. I walked past one to find myself
drooling over an assortment of cakes and cookies when I spotted these
tasty looking chocolate ones, decorated with colourful smarties. I was
left inspired to have a go myself and here are the results, hope you enjoy.
I found the recipe over at Nigella.com and them simply tempered some chocolate and stuck on a few smarties to finish. 's easy!
